About this business

Category: Italian Restaurant

The cuisine at Lucciola revolves around a single, unifying concept:

Booking a table at Lucciola

Your first step is a reservation through Resy or SevenRooms, and you'll need a credit card to hold it. The restaurant says bookings open 30 days out at midnight Eastern, and canceling inside 24 hours costs $185 per person. It only seats full parties, and showing up 15 minutes late means losing the table.

It's dinner only, Tuesday through Sunday, with Mondays closed. Resy takes up to six guests. For 7 to 10, or a private party, the restaurant asks you to email.

Weeknight walk-ins get seated for the full tasting experience only. The dress code is casual elegant: jackets are suggested, and shorts, sneakers and sweats stay home.

Tasting menus and wine pairings

The restaurant describes the evening as starting before any food arrives. Staff ask about your preferences and favorite flavors, then steer the table through a tasting menu. Its website names a blind No Menu tasting, a Giusti course built around aged balsamic vinegar, and a Trip to Emilia Romagna menu. Chef Michele Casadei Massari leads the kitchen.

Wine is a big part of the night. The restaurant lists a deep cellar of Italian and international bottles, offers pairings and runs a Wine Club. It doesn't allow corkage. Two gluten-free pastas are available, though not as a version of the tasting menu.

It holds a 4.8 rating from 1,555 Google reviews. Reviewers mention warm, attentive hosts, an intimate room and pairings that land, plus a relaxed pace with no rush to leave. One diner found the portions too small.

This Upper West Side spot sits in a city with 4,624 heating and 1,212 cooling degree days a year, per NOAA normals for 1991-2020. New York counts 8,584,629 people as of 2025, per the Census Bureau.

Before you book, have a card ready and think through the flavors you love and the ones you'd skip, since that conversation shapes your menu.

I experienced the Giusti Table at Lucciola, where each dish was paired with an aged balsamic vinegar from Giusti, and I loved it! Such a nice vibe and great for date night, it felt like being in Italy and I had the most delicious spaghetti I've ever had in NYC! The service was attentive and knowledgeable, and the ambience intimate and cozy. I loved that it's a truly unique experience in NYC ( I've never seen anything like it anywhere else). I'll definitely be going back!

Lucciola is a total gem in NYC, amazing authentic Italian food, wonderful ambiance, and top-notch hospitality. A huge shout-out to our host Filip, who was so welcoming, attentive, and made our evening extra special. We’ll definitely be back!

We have tried the 7 and 9 course menus on recent trips. Both were excellent and plentiful. Wine pairings were spot on. Manager, waitstaff and hostess were polite, attentive and ever-present. It is a unique restaurant with very few tables. Be prepared to spend the entire evening there, You will not be rushed out since they only do one seating per evening.
